On December 5, 2022, a joint police, gendarmerie, and “water and forestry” post was attacked by unidentified armed men. A forestry guard was killed and a police officer was reported missing.

On December 6, 2022, soldiers of the FAMa accompanied by the PMC Wagner reportedly appeared on the market in Kita, killing five people, including a ten-year-old child, and arresting others. The FAMa denied and declared they had only neutralized one terrorist.

On December 7, 2022, a violent clash took place between unidentified armed men and Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland in Boala. Twelve Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland were killed, as well as six civilians and about twenty terrorists.
