On 28 August 2022, following the ultimatum imposed by the terrorists against the population in Tin Hama. More than 300 people fled the locality to take refuge in the town of Ansongo.

Arson attack on Monkondongo school.

On 28 August 2022, at around 3pm, unidentified armed individuals set fire to the school in the locality of Monkondongo in the province of Kouritenga.

Clashes between Dan Na Amassagou and the Macina katiba.

On 28 August 2022, clashes took place between the Dogon militia “Dan Na Ambassagou” and elements of the AQIM-affiliated Macina katiba in the locality of Simita near Sofara. Several militia members were killed.

The majority of Nayala province under the control of armed terrorist groups.

On 28 August 2022, most of the Nayala region was reportedly under the control of armed terrorist groups. Terrorists were seen in the locality of Gassan selling stolen cattle.

Burkinabe SDF strike against a terrorist rally.

On 28 August 2022, Burkinabe defence and security forces fired rockets at a gathering of unidentified armed terrorists between the localities of Rikou and Goulagou in Yatenga province. The human toll is unknown.

Theft of a Red Cross vehicle in Malam Boulori.

On 28 August 2022, ISGS-affiliated terrorists robbed a Red Cross ambulance in the locality of Malam Boulori in the Diffa region.

Burkinabe military operation against the terrorist base in Helga.

On 29 August 2022, the Burkinabe armed forces carried out an operation against the terrorist base of Helga north of the locality of Yagha. The human toll was 18 terrorists killed and equipment recovered against one dead SDF.

Clash between FAMa and ISGS in Salata.

On 29 August 2022, Malian armed forces clashed with EIGS-affiliated elements near the locality of Salata in the Gao region, in territory claimed by the terrorist Moussa Moumini. The human toll was several dead and prisoners among the armed terrorist group.

2022/08/30

FAMa military operation near Tessit.

On 30 August 2022, the Malian armed forces carried out a military operation against a terrorist group affiliated with the ISGS. The Malian government reports that 44 terrorists were neutralized and vehicles and weapons seized. The official statement deplores the loss of 2 soldiers and 8 wounded. Aerial bombings were conducted.

Aerial bombardment of a Tuareg camp by the FAMa near Tessit.

On 30 August 2022, Malian armed forces bombed a civilian Tuareg camp near Tessit. The human toll was several dead and many seriously injured. No official statement was made.

2022/08/31

Terrorist movement towards Pankélé.

On 31 August 2022, an armed terrorist group on its way to the locality of Pankélé was seen in the localities of Gossina and Massako in Nayala province.

The unintentional explosion of an IED on the Boukouma bridge.

On 31 August 2022, a small armed terrorist group of seven fighters was killed when an IED was planted on the Boukouma bridge in Soum province.

Two EIGS leaders injured in clashes in Tamalat.

On 31 August 2022, during clashes between the EIGS and the MSA-GATIA coalition in Tamalat, Ouzour Maykilaye and Sadou Karsonga were injured. The two EIGS-affiliated terrorist leaders were transported to a safe haven in Niger for treatment.
