Delivery of Turkish-made UAVs to Togo.

On 11 July 2022, Togo acquired a batch of “Bayraktar TB2” UAVs. The aim is to monitor its border with Burkina Faso against terrorist incursions.

Niabrego under ultimatum from unidentified armed individuals

On 11 July 2022, unidentified armed individuals issued an ultimatum to the population of Niabrego near Mangodara. They ordered them to abandon the village on pain of death.

Reconstruction of the massacre in the town of Moura

On 12 July 2022, a reconstruction of the Moura massacre by Malian armed forces and mercenaries of the Wagner group was published. As a reminder, a mass grave with some of the victims of Moura had been set up near the former French camp of Gossi to accuse the “Barkhane” force of abuses.

Kidnapping of two people in the locality of Fada N'Gourma

On the evening of 12 July 2022, terrorists kidnapped two people and stole animals and several motorbikes in Sector 1 of the city.

Demonstration in Ménaka in the face of rising insecurity.

On 12 July 2022, at the call of several civil society organisations, the population of Menaka demonstrated to warn of growing insecurity. The rise of the EIGS in the region is creating a worrying climate of insecurity.

Terrorist attack on Sala gendarmerie.

On 13 July 2022, terrorists attacked the Sala gendarmerie near Bekuy. No casualties were reported, but there was significant material damage.

Clash between JNIM and ISGS near the town of Inazol.

On 13 July 2022, a clash took place between the ISGS and the JNIM at Inazol near Menaka. The human toll shows losses on both sides of the conflict as well as the destruction of equipment. One of the ISGS leaders nicknamed “Balla” was reportedly killed.

Attack on a Tabarat grazing camp.

On 13 July 2022, at around 3pm, armed individuals in several vehicles attacked a camp near Tabarat. The death toll was reported to be six men and three black shepherds. Among the victims were two children aged 11 and 14 and an 89-year-old man.

Attack on the locality of Fombori.

On 13 July 2022, armed individuals attacked the village of Fombori, 2km from the town of Douentza. The human toll was three people killed and several wounded among the local population.

2022/07/14

Nigerian air strike in Borno.

On 14 July 2022, the Nigerian Air Force conducted an air strike in Borno against a group of terrorists affiliated to Boko Haram. The human toll was 21 terrorists killed and 6 Boko Haram commanders surrendered.

Clashes between Burkinabe SDF and armed terrorist groups along the RN3.

On 14 July 2022, the Burkinabe defence and security forces repelled two terrorist attacks along the National 3 road between Dori and Kaya. No human casualties were reported.

Attack on Zantiguila checkpoint.

During the night of 14 July 2022, a group of unidentified armed individuals attacked the checkpoint of Zantiguila, 50 km from Bamako on National Road 6. One policeman, two gendarmes and two town hall officials were killed.

Attack repulsed against the town of Telataye.

On 14 July 2022, the EIGS carried out an attack against the town of Telataye in the Gao region. The attack was foiled and repelled by the security forces present in the area. The human toll was one terrorist killed, whose body was left behind when they retreated.

Terrorist attack with knives in the canton of Koundjoaré.

On 14 July 2022, a terrorist stabbing attack was carried out in Koundjoaré canton near an advanced military post. The human toll was around ten dead.

A FAMa / Wagner patrol attacked by the population of Sévaré.

On 14 July 2022, the population of Sévaré in the Mopti region threw stones and insulted the vehicles of Russian mercenaries from the Wagner group in a FAMa convoy. The inhabitants of the locality regret the deterioration in security since the arrival of the mercenaries.
