On 8 July 2022, the Malian Armed Forces announced that they would resume escorting vehicles along National Road 16 between Mopti and Gao.

Military operation in Nigeria resulted in a victory over ISWAP.

On 8 July 2022, the Nigerian armed forces conducted an operation in Borno State against ISWAP. The human toll was several terrorists killed and numerous weapons and ammunition recovered.

Murder of two gold miners on the Markoye - Intassalaten axis

On 8 July 2022, two gold miners travelling on the road between Markoye and Intassalaten were killed by unidentified armed individuals.

Assassination near Koria.

On the evening of 8 July 2022, a man’s throat was found slit by unidentified armed individuals on National Road 24 near Koria. The RN24 links Dori to Sebba.

A Nigerian army vehicle hit an IED on the F-122 road between Mararaba and Katafila.

On 8 July 2022, a Nigerian armed forces vehicle hit an IED planted by ISWAP on the F-122 road between Mararaba and Katafila. Several people were killed and injured, and the vehicle was completely destroyed.

MPP protest in Ouagadougou.

On 8 July 2022, the Mouvement du Peuple pour le Progrès (MPP) organised a demonstration in Ouagadougou in front of the home of the ousted former president Roch Marc Christian Kaboré in order to prevent him from taking part in a meeting organised by the current government with former heads of state.

Attack on Algerian truckers in Gao.

On 9 July 2022, four armed individuals on motorbikes attacked Algerian truckers in Gao. Three Algerian nationals were injured.

A vehicle hit an IED near Kantchari.

On 09 July 2022, a vehicle with four people in it hit an IED on the southern road from Kantchari. Two people were killed and two injured.

Attack on the town of Barsalogho by an armed terrorist group.

On 10 July 2022, an armed terrorist group attacked the locality of Barsalogho and the detachment of Burkinabe armed forces present there. The human toll was six FDS injured and nine civilians killed. Weapons and vehicles were stolen by the attackers.

Refuelling in flight of two Mirage 2000 near Dori.

On 10 July 2022, a French tanker aircraft took off from Niamey (Niger) and refuelled two Mirage 2000 aircraft in the sky over Dori.

49 Ivorian soldiers arrested in Bamako.

On 10 July 2022, Malian security forces arrested 49 Ivorian soldiers from a UN detachment as they arrived at Bamako’s Modibo Keita airport.

Two Nigerian army soldiers captured by ISWAP in Ghajiram.

On 10 July 2022, ISWAP terrorists captured two Nigerian soldiers on the road between Ghajiram and Gagegna in the Borno region.
