Important seizure of equipments

On February 1st, 2022, as part of Operation Kélètigui, the Malian armed forces exposed all the equipment seized from the terrorist groups operating on the Mali-Burkina Faso border. More than 2,000 liters of fuel, 17 firearms, 11 motorcycles and 1 pickup truck were recovered by the army.

Arrival of JNIM fighters in Bakal.

On February 1st 2022, fighters of the JNIM terrorist group moved to Bakal. These figters came from Burkina Faso.

Convoy attack in Songho

On February 2nd, 2022, two trucks were attacked by jihadists at a checkpoint manned by the Dan Na Amassagou militia at the Songho intersection. One crew member was injured.

Ersam population escape from their village

On February 2nd 2022, following the advance of JNIM fighters, the population of Ersam was forced to leave their village because they were accused of supporting ISGS fighters.

Attack on the Kayara gold mining site.

On the night of February 2nd, 2022, the Kayara/Lagbilin gold mining site was attacked by a terrorist group. Two civilians and a volunteer for the defense of the homeland were killed.

An armored vehicle damaged by an IED.

On February 3rd, 2022, an armored vehicle belonging to the security forces was damaged by an improvised explosive device. It was set on fire by JNIM fighters near the Ivorian border.

Attack of the city of Barsalogho.

On February 3rd, 2022, the town of Barsalogho was attacked by a terrorist group. The toll was 4 volunteers for the defense of the homeland killed.

FAMa operation in the Djénné region.

Since February 3rd, 2022, Malian armed forces have been conducting a ground operation with air support in the Djénné area. The commune of Femaye, which is under the control of jihadist groups, has been the subject of clashes, and several detonations have been heard.

Shell fire in Boni.

On February 4th, 2022, at least three mortar shells were fired at the Malian armed forces camp in Boni. There were no human or material losses.

Fight between the JNIM and ISGS.

On February 4th 2022, JNIM and ISGS fighters clashed in the commune of Fitili. ISGS members had to retreat towards the river to the east.

Attack of Toubani's town by JNIM

On February 5th 2022, JNIM fighters attacked the village of Toubani. Four Fulani were killed, the leader of the faction was kidnapped, and all the livestock was stolen.

Terrorists are looking for people.

On February 5th, 2022, three pickup trucks full of JNIM fighters arrived in Lellehoye. The members of the terrorist group were looking for several people whom they accused of illegally collecting Zakat for the ISGS. In their journey, the attackers fired several shots and looted, then set fire to 3 stores belonging to the people they suspected.

Fight between JNIM and ISGS.

On February 6th, 2022, JNIM and ISGS fighters clashed near the village of Houarara. JNIM members reportedly inflicted casualties on ISGS fighters and seized their vehicles, motorcycles and weapons.

Destruction of telephone towers.

Since several weeks now, telephone pylons have been vandalized in Burkina Faso. Last week it was Namoungou’s one, and on February 06 those of Lalgaye and Djigoué were destroyed.

Clash between Dan Na Amassagou militiamen and jihadists.

On February 6th, 2022, fighters belonging to the Dan Na Amassagou militia and members of a jihadist group clashed south of Douentza. Two militiamen were killed.
